How It Shows Up

Bell Canyon's houses mostly date to around 1983, a good eight years newer than the median for the wider service area. That matters because by the early 80s, torsion springs above the door had mostly replaced the side-mounted extension springs you'd find on older stock.

So when a door here starts sagging on one side or the opener strains and reverses partway up, it's almost never a frayed extension cable snapping loose - it's a torsion spring losing tension after four decades of cycles, or the drum cable it winds onto starting to fray at the same spot every time.
